The Architectural Woodwork Institute and the Heart of America Chapter of AWI present:
Fundamentals of Project Management
This one day program will look at the project management process from an architectural woodworker’s perspective, examining the project management role as a job moves through the plant. We will start with a brief overview of estimating as it relates to project management. We will talk about, the handoff to project management from estimating, what a project manager needs to know about finance and contracts, drafting and submittals, scheduling, managing a project through production, change orders, installation, and project closeout. The format is informal and audience participation is encouraged. We’ll use Powerpoint slides to illustrate some of our points and we’ll hand out a disc with live spreadsheet and Word documents that can be adapted to use in your plant. This course is aimed at new project managers and project managers who work in companies that are trying to improve their project management systems. It is an excellent stand alone program and also a good preparation for the AWI Advanced Project Management Seminar.
