Heart of America Chapter President John VanErem presented Jerry Allen of Allen Millwork Co. with the Presidents Award for Outstanding Chapter Member of the Year at the November chapter meeting. Jerry has served in a number of different positions in the Chapter and has been a member of the National Skills USA Cabinetmaking Championship committee for over 30 years. He has served on the National Development Council and is a recipient of Honorary Life Member Award from AWI National.

The November 2017 Chapter meeting, hosted by Technique Manufacturing is scheduled for Thursday, November 16th beginning at 5:30 PM at The Atrium Hotel & Conference Center, 1400 N. Lorraine, Hutchinson, KS. The program will be presented by Tucky Allen, Kansas WorkforceONE. RSVP to Ted Robinson at Technique Manufacturing. Deadline for reservations is November 13th.

The 2017 Heart of America Chapter Golf Tournament is scheduled for Friday, September 22nd beginning at 9:00am at the Emporia Golf Course in Emporia, KS. The cost including 18 holes of golf, cart and meal ticket is $65. Use this link to download the form and sign up for the event. Please note that if you have multiple members attending from your company each one should be listed on the form. Paper forms are also available by emailing Dustin Hecht.

Hole sponsorships are also available and include a sign at the tee box of the sponsored hole, 18 holes of golf for one, cart, and one lunch ticket for $200. Vendors interested in hole sponsorship and/or donating promotional gifts or cash for prizes, contact Dustin Hecht by September 8th.

There is also a silent auction form as well for those of you who would like to donate product. Please have a company representative send this form to Dustin Hecht.

The July 2017 Chapter meeting, hosted by Woodwork Manufacturing is scheduled for Thursday, July 27th beginning at 5:30 PM at the Pretty Prairie Steakhouse, 112 Main Street, Pretty Prairie, KS. Program will be Vendor Tabletop Presentations. The cost for a table is $50 per company. RSVP to Lynn Stucky at Woodwork Manufacturing. Deadline for reservations is July 14th.

Bill has served as the chairperson of the Kansas Skills USA Cabinetmaking Competition for 30 years and has served as Chapter President for four terms. Thanks for all you do Bill!
